Brackenridge Field Lab offers many facilities and resources for researchers and educators. The field station’s greatest asset is its rich habitat mosaic. The four main habitats at BFL (the upper terrace, the old quarry, the pasture, and the river terrace) are defined by their unique disturbance histories and the plant communities that have developed as a result. Our long-term records of each habitat provide great opportunities for the exploration of community dynamics and succession following different anthropogenic and natural disturbances.
The BFL campus also offers a variety of indoor and outdoor research facilities, including lab and classroom spaces, as well as greenhouses, experimental gardens, and exclosures.
